The output from each test is the pressure, temperature and data recorded at each condition. There is an in-house logging capability available to generate spreadsheets summarising every engine run.

Over 300 pressure transducers ranging from 0.02bar to 10bar are integrated into the 1Hz logger system. All transducers are calibrated in-house on an annual basis.
There is a limited capability to log pressures at frequencies from 40Hz to 10kHz.

Approximately 200 thermocouple readers (K and N type) are integrated into the 1Hz logger system. An additional 32 N type thermocouples can be logged at up to 40Hz.
It is important to produce an accurate 3D map of an exhaust flowfield to compare against CFD simulations. The traverse rig allows pitot and temperature probes to be inserted into the exhaust at moved to specific locations throughout a run. The traverse is controlled from S & C’s logging software and can be operated remotely via an ethernet connection.
